Our rehoming process

We work to increase the number of greyhounds rehomed after racing. We encourage prospective adopters and ensure that they understand greyhounds and their needs.

Learn about greyhounds

If you are interested in adopting a retired racing greyhound then the first step is for you to learn as much as possible. Even though we think they are wonderful, they are not for everyone. The following is highly recommended:

Branigan, Cynthia A., Adopting the racing greyhound / Cynthia A. Branigan (New York, NY: Howell Book House, c2003). ISBN 9780764540868.

Branigan is available in New Zealand from: Wheelers Books, Fishpond.co.nz, Mighty Ape, The Nile.
